How to maintain the perfect co-worker carpool dynamic. 

Do's: some light-hearted banter about Mike from management, remedy recommendations for the Sunday night blues, and if you're really feeling comfortable and semi-caffeinated, maybe even some mild (or not so mild) karaoke. 

Don't: Still be asleep while your coworker is waiting outside your humble abode, cancel at the last minute and put your coworker in a very unfortunate U-term dilemma, offer to pay for gas but then tell them you'll cover the coffee that day instead (and then put it on the company card). Lastly and most importantly: DO NOT ditch them for your better-looking, male coworker and then come running back when his car breaks down. It's not a good look. 

There's nothing worse than feeling used.
Wait—actually, there is one thing worse: being used and unjustifiably blamed for it.

Now imagine having to sit face-to-face with that person in a 9-to-5 that feels more like a three-day-long staring contest—because, of course, they sit directly across from you at work. Yes, they upset you. But you promised yourself that this would be the year of "protecting your inner peace." So, you maturely choose to avoid confrontation.

But then that same selfish co-worker decides to throw unnecessary dirt on your name, and suddenly you're wishing you could grab the wheel, throw the car in reverse, and accelerate as far away from them as possible.
